Marquand Development Corporation is a 501©3 Non-Profit Organization striving to promote Community Betterment, Revitalization, Preservation, Tourism, Growth and Development within the community of Marquand.

Mission Statement: The purpose(s) for which Marquand Development Corporation is organized, includes, but is not limited to: Community Betterment, Revitalization, Preservation, Tourism, Enhancement of existing, and Establishment of new Residential and Commercial offerings within the community, plus Growth and Development of core infrastructure for the sustainability of the community going forward. Said Corporation shall work with individual property owners, local government, governmental agencies, private developers, independent contractors and the like to help enhance, revive and establish a sustainable lifestyle, which is both livable and marketable. Said Corporation will strive to improve the social-economic standing of the community through, and of, it’s efforts.

Meeting Information: Meetings are held on the Last Monday of each month at the Marquand Community Center – 115 N. Martha Street – Marquand, MO – at 6:30 p.m. unless otherwise posted. Meetings are open to the public, but anyone requesting to present to the board must be acknowledged on the meeting agenda.

Projects and Accomplishments: Marquand Development Corporation over the past 10+ years has been a driving force in promoting Community Betterment through the projects it has endorsed. Represented through the attached photography, you will find that the organization has been instrumental in accomplishing a number of common goals for the community, including a Children’s Playground (geared toward all children, including those living with a disability) and the construction and successful sale of the organization’s first Spec Home. Current Project Underway: Restoration of the Marquand Depot Reconstruction site. Located in the Village of Marquand Historical Park, MDC has actively adopted the structure to bring it’s exterior up to standard, plus establish restroom facilities for park visitors and establish an area where local historic items can be displayed in a museum setting. Work will resume on this project in the Spring of 2012. Volunteers are needed, and can sign up to participate by calling: 573-783-8558.

Meeting and Banquet Facility: The Marquand Community Center located at 115 North Martha Street offers Meeting and Banquet space. Handicapped Accessible, and complete with a heat-and-serve kitchen space, the facility makes the perfect place for your meeting, party, family reunion, fund raising event or wedding reception. Office Space for Lease: The Marquand Community Center currently has excellent Office Space for lease. The two separate offices could easily facilitate one larger company, or function as two smaller businesses. Wiring is in place to accommodate phone and internet service.
